Here are this week's progress pictures and measurements for me…
Weight: 175.4 pounds (-7.0lb from last measurement)
Waist: 32.0 inches (-1.0" from last week)
Well, I finally figured out what that throat sickness I mentioned last time was… mononucleosis.
Needless to say, it was awful, and my throat was so sore that I could barely eat for days. Thanks to my body's uncanny ability to return myself to the stick-figure shape I had before working out, I dropped a whopping 17 pounds in two weeks!
Yes, I've heard the, "Then I wish I had mono," jokes, but I didn't really have the extra 17 pounds to lose, so now I'm trying to put it back on, slowly but surely and using as many healthy and organic options as I can, instead of just loading up on junky, fatty foods.
I'm cleared for working out again this week, so I'm going to start off very slowly. One of the things about mono is your spleen swells, and though it's very rare, intense exercise or strenuous activity can cause the spleen to rupture. They say to give it a full 4 weeks to be safe, and it's been just about that long now.
Has anyone else out there had mono? How much weight did you lose?

Did you make progress or excuses today?

Hey Kids. How’s your day going? I’m off, have to catch a train to get downtown for a meeting…..it is times like these that I wish I could REALLY be a diva and have a plane take me from here to downtown. I have to leave like 2 hours to get down there. SUCKY. Oh well.
Today, I had NO TIME. But I MADE TIME to vlog/blog/workout. I did only about 50 minutes of Kettlebell training through that awesome DVD I have. (Will share more later, have posted about her before.) I burned 500 calories. I wanted to workout for 90 minutes today and burn 800 calories. The day wouldn’t allow for it. So, I got over it. I didn’t use that as an excuse to do NOTHING and pig out!!
Enjoy the vlogging below. I think I look pasty white, so I have to be sure to go tanning tomorrow morning. Sorry for the visual. You may want to wear sunglasses.

Here are this week's progress pictures and measurements for me…
Weight: 182.4 pounds (-4.2lb from last measurement)
Waist: 33.0 inches (+0.25" from last week)
It's been several weeks since our last progress update, as things have been pretty hectic: traveling, opening a new business, raising two fast-growing and powerful puppies, and more…
Things have finally settled down enough to get back on track health and fitness-wise, just in time for both of us to come down with some type of head and throat sickness.
In fact, that was part of our wake-up call that we need to start focusing on our bodies and health again, since I can't even remember the last time I was this sick.
I'm just coming out of it now, but I lost several pounds, since I couldn't eat many solid foods with such a sore throat.
It should only take another day or two of R&R, then we'll be easing back into full workouts, and we've already cleaned up our eating over the last several days, since that got out of hand with all of the traveling too.

Pomegranate Juice to Slow Prostate Cancer Progress
Study shows that drinking pomegranate juice may benefit men to slow the progress of prostate cancer.
Pomegranates contain a cocktail of chemicals which minimise cell damage, and potentially kill off cancer cells. The study, by the University of California in Los Angeles, appears in the journal Clinical Cancer Research.
Previous research had indicated that pomegranate juice could have a beneficial effect on prostate cancer in tests on mice.
But the latest study has shown that humans can potentially benefit too.
The presence of prostate cancer cells is monitored by measuring levels of a chemical they produce called prostate-specific antigen (PSA). The average doubling time of the PSA is about 15 months, but in patients who drank pomegranate juice this increased to an average of 54 months. This will help to delay the therapies such as hormone treatment or chemotherapy, both of which bring with them harmful side effects.
Besides the ability to slow prostate cancer progress, pomegranate juice may also protect human body from the damage by particles called free radicals because the anti-inflammatory effects and high levels of anti-oxidants in it.
